Thanks for taking the time to learn more about our team. We believe one of the most important aspects of building any successful relationship is developing an honoring and trustworthy connection with one another. This simple introduction to our background and values can help us begin to build that connection. Without further ado, let us share a little bit about ourselves and our journey.
Eric’s real estate career actually began while attending college; he started his own building design firm – Excel Design Group. With my 28 years of operating his own design business, he and his team were responsible for over 1,100 successful building projects in the Sacramento region. He designed custom homes, residential additions and remodels, production housing, multifamily housing, and participated on a variety of commercial projects including a large $7.5M industrial plant. Some of his work has even been featured on exclusive tours such as the Street of Dreams and the BIA Home Tours and his firm has won awards for his design work.
Eric also has experience on the investing and construction side of the industry as well. As an investor, he has managed a small home renovation/remodel project and oversaw the building of two small custom homes. He even has some personal experience working in the plumbing, electrical, flooring, carpentry, painting, and roofing trades over the years.
Eric enjoys being involved with my community. In his youth he was involved with 4-H and served in various leadership positions. As an adult he served in my local church in various capacities and responsibilities including home group leader, children’s teacher, and a deacon on the board of elders. I have involvement in feeding and clothing homeless in our community and abroad as well. He enjoys his family time, playing guitar, and reading.
Margaret has over three decades working as a tax professional at the Board of Equalization and has served in various capacities including a top adviser to Board of Equalization Members George Runner and Bill Leonard. She served many years in the Office of the Taxpayer Rights Advocate where she helped taxpayers assert their legal rights and resolve tax issues – resulting in an appointment on Governor Schwarzenegger’s California Performance Review.
Margaret has been actively involved with my community for years as well. During her younger days, she was involved with the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H with her agricultural and livestock activities. As an adult she has served in her local church in various capacities and responsibilities - children’s pastor, youth pastor, woman’s leader, teacher, and minister. She even ran for the Sacramento County Assessor in 2010 and has experience working in the political arena. Other community experience includes developing the YMCA’s Youth and Government program, Chairing the Board’s Women’s Advisory Committee, working with the Board’s Education & Outreach Office to help taxpayers, and assisting in the creation of the Pro Bono Legal Assistance Program to help unrepresented taxpayers with legal help for pending tax appeals. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies and an Associate degree in Business. She enjoys her family time, reading, and decorating her home.
